Rosanna Tote Bag

Rossana Tote is the latest Bag from Delinda Boutique, and it is not like any other tote this is a very stylish one.

I love Maria's designs, the are always different and her patterns are very well written and easy to follow with lots of photos.

The Rosanna Tote is a huge bag (17.5" high, 16"/17.5" width, and 3" deep), perfect to take to the beach or pool, but if you want a smaller one you just print the pattern at 80% or 75% and you still are going to have a very nice tote.

I love making this bag, you can play a lot with the fabrics, you can use scarps from other projects and mix different materials. I use some faux leather samples, and denim from the collection "my hubby old jeans" ;) On the back I used denim and a piece of red pleather, but the back looked a little bit plain so I added one jean's pockets.

Look at the side, isn't it nice?  / Mira los lados, no es estupendo?

The pattern ask for a big slip pocket inside, but I had some trouble with my machine when I was sawing it, and ruined the fabric and I didn't have more of that fabric, so I added the other jean's pocket and a zippered pocket.

There is another pocket, a hidden one on the back.

For the closure you have instruction for both, magnetic snap or zip, I  used magnetic snap on mine.
I love this bag, it´s easy to put together and it has a very nice shape. If you are a beginner you must try this bag, and if you aren't sure about the zips you can ignore them and still make a very nice bag.

You can buy the pattern on Etsy or Craftsy and you can take a look to the other bags on Facebook HERE

Since school started last September, my son has been asking for a new book bag, and finally, on Christmas, I made one for him. He chose the model and colours and here it is.

Retro Rucksack Designed by Radiant Home Studio Sewed by my way of

The pattern is The Retro Rucksack from Radiant  Home Studio, this is a very versatile bag, it has a lot of pocket and you can adapt it to your necessities and you can carry it crossbody or like a rucksack. This pattern is full of details, and it's very well written and has a very detailed step by step with photos.

The pattern ask for two fabric outside, but my son wants it all black outside and red inside (his favourite colour)

This bag has 2 exterior pockets, I used mesh fabric and I double the size of them and put an elastic.

Scarf... Scarf... Scarves !!! / Bufandas

This Christmas a made several scarves as gifts for my children's teachers. My eldest son helped me to choose the pattern and colours.

I made five scarves using Long Double Crochet Cowl by Stephany (All About Ami) using her own variation to make a shorter Cowl, using just one skein of Lion Brand Homespun yarn. This is a very very easy pattern and the Cowl is so cosy and warm, I love it. It took me around 3 hours to make one. And Homespun yarn is so soft.

I just made one thing different, I used Treble Crochet instead Double Crochet, because I crochet very tight (that's because I learned to crochet making amigurumis).

Además hice 5 bufandas usando el patrón  Long Double Crochet Cowl by Stephany (All About Ami) usando su propia variente para hacer un cuello mas corto usando una sola madeja de lana (Lion Bran Homespun) Este patrón es super fácil y rápido y el cuello es muy calentito, me encanta. Me tomo como 3 horas hacer una.

Here are the photos

I also made three Artfully Simple Infinity Scarf pattern by Moogly. This pattern is amazing, is so simple and the finished scarf is so beautiful, you can't do wrong with this pattern it is fool proof, even if you make some mistakes they aren't noticeable in the finish scarf, believe I know what I'm talking about ;). It took me around 6 - 8 hours make one scarf, but I'm a slow crocheter. For these scarf I used Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable, this yarn is very soft and has such beautiful colours.

Marion Tote Bag

Well, here I'm again, it has been awhile since the last time that I post, I have been busy crocheting and doing stuff.

One of the thing that I have been making is the Marion Tote Bag designed by Maria Petrova from Delinda Boutique. I met Maria on facebook and some weeks ago she ask me if I can test one of her bags, I took a look at her designs and I love them all !!!! and yes of course I accepted. I choose the Marion Bag to start.

The Marion Bag is a middle size bag, it closes with a magnetic snap and the handles are long enough to carry under your arm comfortably. I love the shape of this bag and the handles.

The pattern suggest a slip pocket, I never made it this way before, it has a pleat in the middle to easy access. I added a zipper pocket, because I like it.

The bag is really easy and quick to make. The pattern is detailed, clear and well written, with photos for each step, and if you have any problem you can send her an email and she will clarify any doubt.
This pattern is good for beginners.

For this bag I use:
- Black cotton drill fabric and 100% quilt cotton for the exterior and handless.
- 100% polyester fabric coated with polyurethane that is water resistant for the lining.
- 8 mm Coreless nylon rope. It is very important to choose a rope that is not too stiff in order to fold it well.

The approximate size is: Base 15.5" (40 cm) Top 13" (33 cm) Deep 5.5" (4 cm) Hight 10.5" (27 cm)

Here it is with a magazine so you can get a better idea of the size.

Serendipity Hip Bag by Chris W Designs

The Serendipity Hip Bag is the new pattern by Christine of ChrisW Designs and I had the pleasure to test this lovely bag for her. This is a small bag that you can carry everywhere when you don't need to carry lot of stuff.

The Serendipity Hip Bag has a very clever design and has plenty of pockets to keep everything organize and handy. It has a adjustable strap so you can wear it cross body or as a shoulder bag. It closes with a zipper and has this beautiful curved top.

The instructions are very detailed and easy to follow and have plenty of photos. The bag is very easy and quick to sew and you don't need a lot of fabric. At first the curved top worried me, but it wasn't a problem, Christine explained it very well. I think that a confident beginner can do it.

I made my Serendipity Hip Bag in brown, I use cotton fabric for the lining and pockets and three differents fabrics for the exterior: I use pleather for the base and the strap, bean bag fabric for the body and a gorgeous fabric that I bought in Spain for the front pocket. I use headliner foam instead of fussible fleece and it worked well and Vilene G700 instead of SF101.

Let me show you a little bit more of the bag. Inside it has a zipper pocket and two slot for cards and behind it there is a slip pocket.

On the front The Serendipity Hip has a zipper pocket and a big slip pocket that also has a phone pocket. Yes Christine thinks in everything !!!

Another photos trying to catch the colour, definitely photography is not my thing LOLLL

Amigurumi: "MICI the mermaid" / "MICI la sirena"

Today I want to show you an amigurumi that I made this past June for my son's friend in her birthday. The moment I saw this pattern I fell in love with MICI and knew I had to do it.

This is my first pattern from Lalylala and I love it, the pattern is very well written and has plenty of photos and was surprisingly quickly to make, maybe because it doesn't have too many pieces to join.

I used Stylecraft Special DK in Teal for the tail, Aspen for the hair and details and cream for the body. I used a 3 mm crochet hook. The final doll is about 30cm (12") high.

To crochet the tail and hair the pattern suggest to add metallic thread, and the final result is lovely, it is a shame that you can't see the effect on the photos. For this I used Gutermann SULKY metallic: Silver 7009, Blue 7052 and Pink 7012

I love the look of her hair, here you can see it on detail.

The pattern include the instructions to make a sailor hat, but I crocheted a pink starfish instead, basically because it was quickly and I was running out of time. I have to be honest, at first I started to sew the hair onto the head but then I just glued it because it was faster and I don't have too much patience LOLLL

Here you can see the fins / Una foto de la aleta para ver el detalle.

Enjoy / Disfruten
