Pick a Pocket Wallet by Chris W Design

Well I made another wallet, the new Pick a Pocket Wallet designed by ChrisW Designs. This is another great pattern, Christine you did it again.

In fact I made two wallets, because with this pattern you have two options, yes two patterns in one. You can make two zipper pockets or an extra 8 cards slots, you can pick whatever is best for you.

Here is the one with the two zipper pockets, I made this firsts, but I made a lot of mistakes.

Then I made another one with the extra cards slot

You can see that the both options are great, there are a couple of hidden slip pockets, this wallet is no bulky but has plenty of pocket. Its when is closed W 9cm x H 19cm x D 1,2cm

It is easy and quick to make and the pattern is well written and easy to follow, like always

The Penny Inn by Chris W Designs - June bag of the Month Club

I was lucky enough to test this new pattern from Chris W Designs, The Penny Inn Wallet, this is the last pattern of The Bag of the Month Club 2015. Like always Chirs did a fabulous job with this pattern.

Big Huggy Dolls Amigurumis by K and J Dolls

I love these patterns by Sayjai Thawornsupacharoen from K&J Dolls, they are big huggy amigurumis, great for big kids that want the amigurumis for play and no for display ;) You can visit her blog and take a look to her awesome job.

I also love the fact that you can find the patterns in different formats, included ebook perfect for my kindle, because I never print the patterns I always use my kindle for that.

I bought four of her patterns: Cat, Bear, Bunny and Monkey. Theses patterns are very well written, they are very easy to follow, have detailed instructions and photos.

She recommend to use Super chunky yarn but I use Stylecraft Chunky with a 4.5mm crochet hook and they have a very good size 14" / 36cm.

So far I've made:

The Cat: well a turn it into a Cheetah, because that is what my son wanted. For that I added some spots, and the lines in his face. I made some changes in the pattern, I added a tail that is not included (I don't know why) and muzzle. The pattern ask to sew the legs and arms with buttons, but I don't like that way so I sewed them the regular way.

I used Stylecraft Chunky in Gold for the body and some blue and black yarn that I have in my stash. I used 12mm orange cat safety eyes and 25mm triangle safety nose.

The Bear: for my eldest son. I use Stylecraft Chunky in dark brown and some red and grey. I use 14mm amber safety eyes and 25mm triangle safety nose.

For the colour change of his jumper I use the method "Jogless Stripes" from Crochet Ever After you can watch the video HERE. You can see the difference between the two jumpers

The Bunny: I made this bunny as a custom order, the boy wanted a blue bunny. I change the way to make the ears because I rather the long ears and I added a tail. I used Stylecraft Chunky in Aster and 9mm safety eyes.

Right now I'm make a lilac bunny and I have the Monkey in queue.

Amelia Hobo Bag

The Amelia Hobo Bag is the latest bag pattern released by Delinda Boutique and I had the pleasure of test it.

This bag is great for a beginner, is beautiful and quick to sew. The pattern gives you many options, you can use magnetic snap or zipper closure, exterior pocket or just interior pockets, you can play a lot with this bag. For my bag I use magnetic snap closure and just the interior pockets.

I use 100% cotton fabric for exterior and lining and the accent is red pleather.

The exterior fabric came from and cushion case that I never use, I interfaced it with a no woven interfacing to give it more structure, but that was a mistake, I don't like the feeling is more like paper than fabric, but still looks nice ;)

Here a photo of the interior. One zipper pocket and one big slip pocket. And you can notice that it is very roomy. Great to go shopping or to the pool.

Take a look of the details, the handle, looks complicate but it is quite simple to do and looks fabulous.

And the bottom, look that shape, very nice, isn't it?

Amelia Hobo Bag is a large bag, 18" W, 21" H and 4" deep, great for shopping, go to the beach or pool...

And you can get the pattern with a 40% discount in her Etsy shop HERE. Use the coupon code 40OFFPATTERN and is valid when you purchase two or more pattern and expires on Feb 14 2015. And the discount is for all here patterns.

Companion Carpet Bag: January's Bag of the Month Club

The Companion Carpet Bag is the January's Bag and is a design of Samantha Hussey from At home with Mrs H. This bag was a very easy and quick to sew, few pieces to cut (the best) and a great result, I love this bag.

The pattern has instructions to make to size, 8" or 12" frame, but you can follow Samantha's tutorial to adapt to another size frame. I made the 8" frame, and is the perfect size for me, it is medium size but very roomy. It has an exterior slip pocket that closes with a magnetic snap, and 2 interior pocket one with zip.

I use for the exterior brown leatherette and fabric from the collection "my hubby old trousers" loll, the lining is 100% quilting cotton in polka dot red.

I also made the handles, following this great TUTORIAL from Liz, when you are at her blog (Liz Moments) don't forget take a good look to her creations, she make beautiful bags and has some great tutorial about faux leather.

Rosanna Tote Bag

Rossana Tote is the latest Bag from Delinda Boutique, and it is not like any other tote this is a very stylish one.

I love Maria's designs, the are always different and her patterns are very well written and easy to follow with lots of photos.

The Rosanna Tote is a huge bag (17.5" high, 16"/17.5" width, and 3" deep), perfect to take to the beach or pool, but if you want a smaller one you just print the pattern at 80% or 75% and you still are going to have a very nice tote.

I love making this bag, you can play a lot with the fabrics, you can use scarps from other projects and mix different materials. I use some faux leather samples, and denim from the collection "my hubby old jeans" ;) On the back I used denim and a piece of red pleather, but the back looked a little bit plain so I added one jean's pockets.

Look at the side, isn't it nice?  / Mira los lados, no es estupendo?

The pattern ask for a big slip pocket inside, but I had some trouble with my machine when I was sawing it, and ruined the fabric and I didn't have more of that fabric, so I added the other jean's pocket and a zippered pocket.

There is another pocket, a hidden one on the back.

For the closure you have instruction for both, magnetic snap or zip, I  used magnetic snap on mine.
I love this bag, it´s easy to put together and it has a very nice shape. If you are a beginner you must try this bag, and if you aren't sure about the zips you can ignore them and still make a very nice bag.

You can buy the pattern on Etsy or Craftsy and you can take a look to the other bags on Facebook HERE
